Each year, The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Recreational Sports honors outstanding student staff members and graduating seniors at the Student Staff Appreciation and Awards night. Southern Miss Rec Sports held the 2013 awards night at the end of the spring semester at the Southern Miss Payne Center.

The awards night gave professional staff members the opportunity to say thank you to the students for their hard work. During the banquet, awards and scholarships are given to outstanding student staff members.

The Leaf Foundation announces the availability of applications for its official Miss America preliminary pageants, to be held at 7 p.m. on August 2, 2013 at The Historic Saenger Theater in Downtown Hattiesburg. This is the 10th anniversary of The Miss Leaf River Valley Pageant.

Spirit of Women and the Saenger Theater invite audiences to experience Menopause, The Musical – a hilarious musical parody that celebrates women and “the change!” Staged to classic tunes from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s, Menopause, The Musical will have the Saenger Theater busting with laughter on May 15 and 16.
